Dithienylethene (DTE) based Organic Materials:
Organic synthesis enables the precise generation of many photo-responsive building blocks including dithienylethene (DTE) unit. DTE is mainly photoswitchable (light-driven) conjugated π-systems and catalytically active that exploit dynamic sensing phenomena. They have potential application in diverse areas: light emitting diodes (LED), energy storage systems (batteries), optical data storage, security code (anticounterfeiting materials), .
Currently, our group focuses on the designing various fluorescent molecules, Boron-doped conjugated oligomers, polymers, and macrocycles based on light sensitive DTE units and their potential application in the field of optoelectronics and memory devices. Study the effect of irradiation with light or Lewis base coordination on optical and electronic properties are also being investigated in our lab.
